BetterPlane Account Deletion Request

How to request deletion

1. Click the button below to request via chat. Include the email address associated with your BetterPlane account and the phrase “Delete my account”.
2. Alternatively, email [email protected] with subject “Delete my BetterPlane account”.
3. In-app: Open the BetterPlane app, go to your User Account (tap your avatar with initials), then choose “Delete Account”.

What we delete

• Account profile: name, email, and contact details.
• App data you provided (where you are the sole officer/manager of the associated hangar): aircraft records, logbooks (original images), AI-extracted text from logbooks, uploaded documents, hangar memberships/invitations you control.
• For aircraft in hangars that have other officers/managers, shared aircraft records and documents remain with the hangar. Your account access is removed and your personal identifiers are detached from shared items, rather than deleting the shared records.
• In-app preferences and other non-essential stored settings tied to your account.

What we may retain and why

• Payment/subscription and tax records handled by Apple/Google/payment processors — retained as required by applicable laws and processor policies.
• Legal, security, or compliance logs; fraud prevention artifacts — retained where we have a lawful basis.
• Customer support communications related to the request — retained for audit/compliance for a limited period.
• Aggregated or de-identified analytics that cannot reasonably identify you.

Retention periods

• Support tickets and audit logs related to deletion requests: retained up to 12 months.
• Billing and tax records: retained up to 7 years (jurisdiction-dependent).
• System backups: residual data may persist for up to 30–90 days in backup media before expiring.

If you submit a verified account deletion request and we complete deletion of your account, the standard subscription grace period will no longer apply to your data.

Timeline

We aim to process verified deletion requests promptly, typically within 30 days.
